State Health Inspection of this Section is carried out in the following spheres:

• Infectious diseases, prevention of occurrence and spread of infectious diseases in the population and in health facilities,
• In case of an occurrence of an infectious disease, it carries out measures for preventing the spread to other persons and for protection of persons having already been in contact with the patient,
• Collecting data of infectious diseases’ in register,
• Data collection concerning occurrence of infectious diseases in people within obligatory reporting pursuant to the Act No. 258/2000 Coll. The data are being assessed, analyzed and information on the trends and occurrence of infectious diseases is being deduced,
• Planning, checking and inspecting regular vaccination pursuing the valid legislation,
• Securing provision of inoculants to pediatrics and general practitioners.

Another activity is represented by the Information System of Children’s Immunization (ISCI) securing calling together the children for their regular vaccination. This system has communicates with pediatrists and child’s parents, with inviting the child by a postal invitation to participate in the vaccination.

The vaccination system both of children, being under the duty of obligatory vaccination and persons being under special or extraordinary vaccination systems is being monitored.

Further, the Department of Epidemiology section of nosocomial infection in Ostrava and Department´s of Epidemiology of local workplaces are carrying out state supervision in hospitals and outpatient health facilities. The inspections are being carried out based on the inspection plan and on the approved operational rules.

As for the newly registered doctors, the Department approves draft operational rules and alterations of the operational rules already approved.
