The Regional Public Health Authority of Moravian-Silesian Region (RPHA) assesses the degree of severity of the environmental burden of children and juveniles exposed to risk factors of living and working conditions or a way of life. Controls the decision-making process in order to reduce health risks, controls and manages the local programs of health promotion and protection of children and juveniles, cooperates with administrative authorities and local authorities to develop health policy for children and adolescents.
The RPHA supervises schools (primary, secondary, vocational), school facilities (school clubs, dormitories, practice centers), interest facilities (art schools, children's homes, clubs), infant institutes and social and legal protection facilities. A total of 412 inspections were carried out in 2016, with more attention being paid to nursery and elementary schools. The most frequent failures include insufficient equipment in bathrooms, poor bedding and more. RPHA also inspects school catering facilities, in 2016 a total of 720 controls were carried out. Preventive hygienic surveillance is also very important. A total of 567 expert opinions on project documentation from the field of school facilities were issued in 2016.
